Henry Clopton is a first-year Humanities Ph.D. student with a concentration in Africana History and African American History Studies. Henry's research interests are focused on examining the impacts of the MAAFA on African Americans and descendants of enslaved Africans self-concept. Henry aims to alleviate the mental struggles of African Americans and hopes to liberate them from mental bondage through research, education, and a strategic social revolution.
A first-year doctoral student in the School of Education Higher Education Leadership Program. Keith is a Program Manager for the United Negro College Fund Institute for Capacity Building. Outside of work, he is involved in with the 100 Black Men of Douglasville, serves as a board member for Zest Preparatory Academy, and is a member of the Douglas County Ga Young Professionals. Research interests include student success, transformative leadership, and faculty development.
Jennifer is a second-year Higher Education Leadership Program student actively involved in the School of Education, Graduate Admission, Phi Delta Kappa Honor Society. Jennifer's research focuses on student persistence and retention with charter school graduates.
Simone Smith is a Doctoral Candidate at Clark Atlanta University. She is a Research Assistant at The Whitney M. Young, Jr. School of Social Work’s Center for Social Reform, Equity, and Innovation. Simone is also a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who received her Master of Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in Non-Profit Management and Social Entrepreneurship and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.
A Political Science major who also earned her B.A. from Clark Atlanta University. As a third-year Ph.D. student, she is focused on Black women in politics, local and state policy, and focusing on the environmental health of Black women. She currently works in grant analytics with a private healthcare firm and is a mom of one. She enjoys live music, museums, and traveling.
